Our host Robin was informative and friendly, the homestead is a fabulous part of NZ history on the coast. Peaceful vibe for r and r. The breakfast is enormous. The lounge had a nice leather sofa and TV. The kitchen was well stocked with good quality utensils, a bottle of milk in the fridge on arrival.
Washing machine for us was great and put to use, washing powder provided too. The bed was large and comfortable, the linens good quality. The shower had really good pressure and the shower and shower room both roomy. The owner Robin was a perfect host, extremely helpful if needed and very charming. He left us some home grown tomatoes and freshly laid eggs, both delicious. We walked around the gardens of the main house which is a bed and breakfast, Robin has been working on them and he has made a really good job, pleasant walk.
All in all very clean, comfortable and peaceful. I would recommend wholeheartedly.

Friendly owner who served a very tasty breakfast. We stayed in the lodge as we like to be in our own space. The lodge is fine with everything we needed and all in great condition and really clean. When we checked in we were given a quick tour of the house and it is one of the few occasions where we might have preferred to stay in the main house, it is beautiful, with large rooms and a lovely guests lounge on the upper floor looking out over an excellent view.

Breakfast is exceptional, the best we had after nearly two months in NZ, well worth the money and putting Oak Lodge a cut above the rest. Everyone going past should stop in and stay a night. Such a warm and beautiful place with amazing gardens to get your self lost in with a relaxing afternoon walk. The breakfast is delicious and the host, Robin, is the nicest man ever!
